About
Dr Mariana Kaiseler is a Sport and Exercise Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) with over 18 years of experience in research, education, and applied psychological practice, specialising in performance, wellbeing, and coping with adversity.
Dr Kaiseler completed a PhD in Sport Psychology at the University of Hull and the Stage 2 Qualification in Sport and Exercise Psychology with the British Psychological Society (BPS). She also undertook an applied internship at IMG Academy in Florida, one of the world’s leading high-performance sport training institutions, and held a Marie Curie–funded postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Psychology, University of Porto. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology in England.
Dr Kaiseler’s work focuses on helping individuals understand their own needs and cope effectively with pressure, adversity, and life changes, while maintaining their potential in both performance and wellbeing. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers, regularly presents at international conferences, serves as an assessor for the BPS Stage 2 Qualification in Sport and Exercise Psychology, and acts as an expert adviser to the European Commission on initiatives related to mental health, sport, and wellbeing.
Her approach is person-centered and integrative, primarily informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
