Assistant Psychologist
Ciara holds a First-Class Honours B.Sc. in Psychology from University College Dublin and a Distinction in a Master’s in Applied Clinical Neuropsychology from Trinity College Dublin’s School of Medicine. During her master’s degree, she gained in-depth knowledge of how neurological conditions affect behaviour and cognition, with a focus on neuropsychological assessment, clinical presentation, and neurorehabilitation.
Ciara’s dissertation focused on the cognitive effects of Motor Neuron Disease, specifically ALS, where she validated the
Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioural ALS Screen (ECAS). The results of this research were presented at the Global Neuropsychology Congress in 2024, and she is currently in the process of publishing her findings.
Previously, Ciara worked as a Special Education/Additional Needs Teacher, supporting children with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and other complex needs. This experience has given her an in-depth understanding of these conditions and strengthened her empathy and commitment to providing effective support. Ciara is particularly interested in combining her background in education with her expertise in neuropsychology, driving her passion for paediatric and educational neuropsychology.
